I had carpal tunnel for several years. I treated under another physician with conservative care for a long time, and though it was recommended that I consider having surgery, I was absolutely terrified and thought that I could just live with it. Finally, I was sick and tired of the numbness, tingling, weakness, and pain in my hands. I opted to have carpal tunnel releases performed at Woodland Surgery Center, and I truly wish that I had this done years ago!
The care I received from Dr. Van Zeeland was first rate. His explanations of the causes behind my symptoms and the procedure itself were thoroughly detailed, yet easy to understand. He was very willing to answer any and all of my questions without making me feel like he was rushing to get to the next patient.
I will admit that I was quite nervous for my first surgery, but after the high quality care I received, I had no qualms or jitters for my second. My comfort and understanding of the surgery process was a top priority to the nursing staff and helped put me at ease. The entire staff at Woodland Surgery Center was extremely personable, but very professional. Any and all questions I had about the prep and discharge process were answered. They even called me the next business day to check-in and make sure I was doing well!
Within hours of my nerve block wearing off, I immediately noticed that I had much less pronounced symptoms. When it was time to get my sutures removed, I only was experiencing occasional symptoms and by the time my second surgery rolled around, I had no more symptoms at all.
I was so impressed with the care I received at Hand and Upper Extremity Center that when my daughter sustained a forearm injury, I brought her to the clinic as well and her care has been just as excellent. Her care has been explained to us both throughout the whole process, and she talks about the clinic all the time.
